Well, in the first episode of the TV cartoon somebody asks him 'what's with the costume?' and he responds 'This is no costume, friend.' I also seem to remember a scene from somewhere, where he's either in the sauna or just got out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist and the costume on underneath.
The antennae are definately part of him, because he loses his sense of balance when The Terror steals them off him in 'Grandpa Wore Tights'
I'll have to take a look through all of my Tick comics, because from what I have seen in the TICK cartoon DVD sets (season 1 and 2) they don't show him outside his outfit or maybe I was too busy laughing at the Multiple Santa episode to notice.
